Join the Center for the First-Year Experience and the Dean of Students Office to watch and discuss Generation Z on Your Campus: Is Your Campus Prepared to Meet the Needs, Demands and Expectations of Generation Z Students & Families? Coffee, tea, and cookies will be provided. The event is free.
Webinar Abstract:
Short attention span. Increased Family Involvement. Digital. Digital. Digital. FOMO — Fear of Missing Out Based on current research, these are just a few of the characteristics your campus must consider as you adapt your services and systems to respond to the next wave of students coming through your doors — Generation Z. Is your campus ready to serve Generation Z? How can faculty adapt in the classroom? What innovative strategies can be implemented in advising and instructing? How must your campus adjust communication methods? What is the impact on campus safety? Understand and address these questions now in order to meet current student needs and to appeal to prospective students and families. Many of your current strategies likely do not provide the services your Generation Z students seek. In order to connect and communicate with this emerging generation, you must understand who they are and how to best provide services and support — or you’ll lose them! Your Gen Z students are savvy consumers of social media, never knowing a world without computers or cell phones. You face a very difficult challenge in connecting to this new generation and in identifying new student behaviors you will likely start seeing more often, and will need to address and respond to…quickly. Join our presenters where you will learn how to engage the Generation Z student community. We will position you with tools and resources to give this generation what they need and offer you a forecast for what your campus can do today to prepare.
